Nautical charts

Historical nautical charts document how cartographers of past centuries recorded coastlines, water depths, and trade routes. In our collection, you'll find a carefully curated selection of such charts, offering insight into the development of navigation and cartography.

Each chart tells a story of the work of early seafarers and surveyors: compass roses, ornate embellishments, and sometimes fantastical border illustrations like sea monsters bear witness to the interplay of scientific precision and artistic design. These charts are both historical sources and graphic works of art.

Our selection includes nautical charts from different regions, scales, and periods of creation – from British coastal waters to other international sea lanes. For each chart, you will find information on its origin, year of creation, and cartographer, where available.

Whether as an addition to your collection, a gift for sailing and maritime enthusiasts, or as a decorative element with historical character – in our collection, you will find a well-researched selection of historical nautical charts.
