Printing Process

Unless otherwise stated, all maps are printed on museum/archival paper using a 10- or 12-color giclée process. This ensures exceptionally high color depth and the finest nuances in color gradients, which are particularly sought after for historical maps with their delicate coloring and filigree details. The result is brilliant, razor-sharp reproductions that very closely match the original character of the respective map in both coloring and expression.

Furthermore, the giclée process is characterized by its high lightfastness and longevity: the pigment inks used are particularly age-resistant and guarantee that the colors will not fade even after many years. Combined with acid-free, archival-quality paper, this creates a printed product of museum quality—ideal for collectors and enthusiasts who value a lasting and faithful reproduction.

Shipping Options

To minimize long international transport routes and associated CO₂ emissions, I produce the maps locally "regionally" with the help of printing partners around the world. The local printing partner chooses the shipping service provider, prioritizing sustainability and reliability.

This way, your order is not shipped across the globe, but rather produced and sent as close as possible to where you live—saving valuable time while protecting the environment. For you, shorter delivery routes generally mean faster delivery without long wait times due to international customs or complex consolidated shipments.

At the same time, when selecting my printing partners worldwide, I ensure consistently high quality standards so that every map arrives in the same museum-quality print, regardless of the production location. In this way, I combine sustainable, regional production with the commitment to offering every customer worldwide the same first-class reproduction.

All maps are shipped in sturdy transport packaging. This reliably protects them on their way to you from creases, moisture, and damage during transport.

For unframed maps, we use robust shipping tubes or tear-resistant cardboard boxes that withstand the pressure and bring the print safely to its destination. Framed items are additionally secured with shock-resistant corner protectors and custom-fit packaging material so that the frame and glass survive transport unscathed. This ensures your map arrives in pristine condition—ready to be hung or given as a gift.
