The "Circoscrizione delle Province Ecclesiastiche e Diocesi nei Regni di Spagna e Portogallo" shows the entire Iberian Peninsula with its finely detailed ecclesiastical division into numerous color-coded archdioceses and dioceses. Spain and Portugal are divided into a dense mosaic of pink, green, beige, yellow, gray, and purple shades, covering provinces such as Santiago de Compostela, Braga, Toledo, Zaragoza, Tarragona, Sevilla, Granada, and Valencia. Episcopal sees are marked with red dots, including Madrid, Lisboa, Burgos, Barcelona, and Coimbra. The Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza) appear on the right, with two cartouches at the bottom left showing the Azores, Madeira, the Canary Islands, and the Cape Verde Islands, and another at the bottom right with São Tomé and the colony of Angola – Portuguese overseas territories that were ecclesiastically assigned to the province. Mountain ranges such as the Pyrenees and the Sierra Morena are hatched, and rivers are finely drawn. The map impressively illustrates the complex diocesan structure of the Iberian Peninsula, including its colonial connections.
