The map shows the entire archipelago of the Faroe Islands with very precise depictions of the coastlines, fjords, towns, and topography (mountains and valleys are indicated by hatching). As a nautical chart, it also contains typical navigation lines (rhumb lines) radiating from a central point. Longitude: The longitude values refer to the Paris meridian, which was customary for French maps of that time.
